Documentation

Everything you need to get started with Sanbila.

SCN.01

Getting Started

1. Download and install Sanbila for your platform.

2. Create a free account or sign in.

3. Create your first project and import media files from an SD card, folder, or paste a URL (SwissTransfer, WeTransfer, Google Drive).

4. Sanbila will upload originals to the cloud. Generate proxies by clicking 'Generate Proxies' and choosing your preset.

5. Open the virtual folder in your NLE (Premiere, Resolve, FCP, or Avid) and start editing.

Cache Management

The streaming buffer manages itself: it drops unused blocks while you edit, and is wiped entirely when you close the app. Proxies stay on your SSD until you free them from Settings.

You can pin important files to prevent them from being evicted, and manually trigger eviction from Settings.

Exporting

1. Finish your edit in your NLE (Premiere, Resolve, FCP, or Avid) and save your project.

2. In Premiere Pro, no relink is needed: the Sanbila plugin already attached each proxy to its 4K original, so you leave 'Use Proxies' unchecked and export the full resolution directly. In DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and Avid, use Smart Relink on your project page: select your NLE timeline file and Sanbila streams only the clips referenced in your edit at full resolution from the cloud. No file is copied lastingly to your disk. You can also export directly with proxies if the quality suits you (YouTube, social media).

3. Back in your NLE, your project and timeline are exactly as you left them. In Premiere Pro you export the 4K by default. In Resolve, FCP, and Avid the clips now point at the original files. Export as usual.

After export, you can archive the project to free up local and cloud storage.
