Everything you need to get started with Sanbila.

SCN.01

Getting Started

1. Download and install Sanbila for your platform.

2. Create a free account or sign in.

3. Create your first project and import media files from an SD card or folder.

4. Sanbila will upload originals to the cloud. Generate proxies by clicking 'Generate Proxies' and choosing your preset.

5. Open the virtual folder in your NLE (Premiere, Resolve, FCP, or Avid) and start editing.

Cache Management

Sanbila uses an LRU (Least Recently Used) eviction strategy. When your local cache reaches its limit, the oldest unused proxies are automatically removed.

You can pin important files to prevent them from being evicted, and manually trigger eviction from the Cache page.

Exporting

1. Finish your edit in your NLE (Premiere, Resolve, FCP, or Avid) and save your project.

2. Use Smart Relink on your project page. Select your NLE timeline file — Sanbila parses it and streams only the clips referenced in your edit at full resolution. Symlinks switch from proxies to cloud originals — no files are downloaded to your disk. Go back to your NLE and export at full quality. In your file explorer, these files may appear as 0-byte symlinks — this is expected. Your NLE reads them normally and streams the full-quality originals directly from the cloud.

3. Go back to your NLE — your project and timeline are exactly as you left them, now pointing at the original files. Export as usual.

After export, you can archive the project to free up local and cloud storage.
